DANISH FESTIVALS. Last Thursday, BUSTER invited Copenhagen's young audiences to enjoy nearly two weeks of film events. From 12 September the Bornshorts film festival celebrates the short format over three days on the idyllic island of Bornholm. Get a quick view of festivals and film events in Denmark.

All year round, festivals dedicated to films of all formats take place in Copenhagen and several cities around Denmark. Find out when and where in the following list of national festivals:

Odense International Film Festival
Short and documentary film festival in Odense with both an international and a national competition. The first Danish film festival to be accepted as a qualifying festival in the Academy Awards Short Film category.

BUSTER – Copenhagen International Film Festival for Children and Youth
Danish and international children's cinema. A forum for filmmakers, educators and others with an interest in children's films. Managed by the organisation Copenhagen Film Festivals.
5-15 September 2013

Bornshorts Film Festival
Short films, music videos, animation, fashion films and feature films. Takes place on the picturesque island of Bornholm in the Baltic Sea.
12-14 September 2013

Salaam Film & Dialogue
Focus on issues related to the modern, multicultural society. Short films, feature films and documentaries travel to cinemas and cultural institutions throughout the country, along with a dedicated speaker.

Short films, feature films and documentaries.

CPH:DOX – Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival
Copenhagen's first international documentary film festival. Quality documentary films from all over the world. Managed by the organisation Copenhagen Film Festivals.

Aarhus Film Festival
An international film event in Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, presenting awarded short and documentary films.

Robert Awards
The Danish film industry's annual awards ceremony, held by the Danish Film Academy since 1982. Celebrates filmmakers, actors and film professionals with a series of awards, including for TV and non-Danish productions.
February 2014

Bodil Awards
The Danish film critics' annual awards ceremony. Held since 1948 by the Film Critics Association. An independent event celebrating filmmakers, actors and film professionals. Also awards to non-Danish films.

CPH PIX – Copenhagen International Feature Film Festival
Feature film festival, first edition in 2009. A merger of the former NatFilm Festival and Copenhagen International Film Festival. Managed by the organisation Copenhagen Film Festivals.

Copenhagen Jewish Film Festival
In the Danish Film Institute Cinemateque in Gothersgade. Every two years.
May 2014

Television Festival organised by the Danish Producers' Association in collaboration with the main TV networks in Denmark.
