Catch a glimpse of Melancholia

NEW TRAILER. Zentropa launches trailer for Lars von Trier's psychological disaster film "Melancholia".

Lars von Trier's "Melancholia" is scheduled for Scandinavian release in May. Now fans of the controversial director can take a first look at the eagerly awaited film in a new trailer.

Described as "a beautiful movie about the end of the world", the film takes its title from the planet Melancholia which is heading towards Earth, as Justine (Kirsten Dunst) and Michael (Alexander Skarsgård) are celebrating their marriage at a sumptuous party in the home of her sister (Charlotte Gainsbourg) and brother-in-law (Kiefer Sutherland).

"Melancholia" is written and directed by Lars von Trier and produced by Meta Louise Foldager and Louise Vesth for Zentropa. Cinematographer is Manuel Alberto Claro ("Reconstruction", "Dark Horse"). 

Coproducers are Memfis Film International, Zentropa International Sweden, Slot Machine / Liberator Productions and Zentropa International Köln. Additional co-producers are Film i Väst, DR TV and Arte France Cinema.

"Melancholia" has been picked up for North American distribution by Magnolia Pictures. TrustNordisk handles international sales.
