Michael Noer's "Key House Mirror" has met with great interest by international festivals since it world premiered at January's festivals in Rotterdam and Gothenburg.
This weekend, Ghita Nørby's performance in the coming-of-oldage drama as Lily, who falls in love in her autumn years, was rewarded by the Italian film critics with their prize for the Best European Actress. The prize was presented at the closing ceremony of the Festival del Cinema Europeo in the Italian city of Lecce on 18 April.
Ghita Nørby also plays the towering lead as dying mother in Bille August's "Silent Heart" and performed across Viggo Mortensen in Argentinian director Lisandro Alonso's Cannes participant "Jauja."
"We struggle with a lot of the same things"
"Meeting Ghita I found a friend whose age wasn't far from my grandmother's but was someone I could talk with about very different things. She made me realise that we by and large struggle with a lot of the same things throughout our lives," director Michael Noer recalls in an interview made on the occasion of the film's world premiere in January.

"Key House Mirror" takes place in a nursing home where Lily lives with her husband Max who is reliant on professional care after his stroke. Lily has been putting her own needs aside, but when a new resident moves in next door, Lily is immediately charmed by him and his passion for life.
"Key House Mirror" is produced ny Nordisk Film and sold by Trustnordisk. Expected Danish release is in autumn 2015.
