Danish documentaries in demand

Janus Metz' twin documentaries "Love on Delivery" and "Ticket to Paradise" will enjoy their US premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, 13-21 March, and are also selected for Thessaloniki Documentary Festival 13-22 March. Since appearing at IDFA 2008, Metz' two documentaries about a group of Thai women and their Danish husbands have attracted much attention from festivals around the world. With their empathic stories of love in a globalised world the films will, in March alone, be screening at four festivals in Europe and the US, including Austin and Thessaloniki. BURMA VJ
Anders Østergaard's IDFA winner "BURMA VJ – Reporting from a Closed Country" is also selected for the festivals in Austin and Thessaloniki – along with a dozen other festivals in March. Chronicling the work of undercover video journalists during the Burmese monks' uprising in 2007, Østergaard's highly political film has undoubtedly struck a chord with a worldwide audience and will premiere in Asia later this month at the Hong Kong International Film Festival (23 March). International sales
International sales for "Love on Delivery" and "Ticket to Paradise" are managed by DR TV, and director Janus Metz will be present at the festivals in both Austin and Thessaloniki. First Hand Films is responsible for international sales for "BURMA VJ", while the American distributor Oscilloscope Pictures is planning the film's theatrical release in the US shortly.
