Danish films to Annecy

ANIMATION. Four Danish films have been selected to the Annecy International Animation Film Festival (4-9 June).

"Ronal The Barbarian" has been selected for the feature film competition at the French animation film festival in Annecy, taking place 4-9 June 2012. The film, about a slight young barbarian with low self-esteem, is directed by Kresten Vestbjerg Andersen, Thorbjørn Christoffersen and Phillip Einstein Lipski and produced by Trine Heidegaard and Eddy May for Einstein Film.

The Animation Workshop in Viborg is represented with three films: "Space Stallions" by Thorvaldur Gunnarson, Arna Diego, Esben Jespersen, Agust Freyr Kristninsson, Jonatan Brusch, Polina Bokhan og Touraj Khosravi is in the competition for Graduation films, and "Seven Minutes in the Warsaw Ghetto" by Johan Oettinger is selected for the short film competition. "Seven Minutes in the Warsaw Ghetto" is supported by New Danish Screen. Furthermore, the advertising film for the animal organisation Dyrenes Beskyttelse, "The Right Choice" by Bo Juhl Nielsen is in the competition for commissioned film.

The festival has also dedicated a special program for the Danish Academy Award winning animator Børge Ring.
