Danish honours at Kiev, Sevilla, Chicago

Audience, jury and industry awards went respectively to a Danish film, a director and a producer.

Love & Rage — Audience Award Kiev

Morten Giese's "Love & Rage" received the prestigious Audience Award at the 39th Molodist Festival in Kiev. The film's leading actress Sara Hjort was present at the festival to receive the honour. 

Through a Glass, Darkly — Best Feature Film Chicago

Danish director Jesper W. Nielsen's Norwegian-Danish-Spanish coproduction "Through a Glass, Darkly" won the award for Best Feature Film at the 26th Chicago International Children's Film Festival (CICFF). The film, based on Jostein Gaarder's novel, is produced by Spillefilmkompaniet 4 ½ in cooperation with Zentropa and Rabagast. Read more about Through a Glass, Darkly 

Producer Søren Stærmose lauded in Seville

Sevilla Festival de Cine Europeo honoured Danish producer Søren Stærmose with the SEFF/SILE Industry Award for his contribution to the film industry the last 25 years — "For his ability in spreading European cinema beyond borders and for creating a new model of convergence between cinema and television in the field of quality fiction." Søren Særmose's latest success is the Millennium trilogy, adaptations of Stieg Larsson's novels.
