Honours for Danish short films

Clermont-Ferrand


"Anna's
Day", written and directed by Árni Ólafu Ásgeirsson, is selected for the
Official Competition at Clermont-Ferrand (30.1.2004 - 7.2.2004), the most
important window for short fiction film in Europe. "Anna's Day" is
produced by Rasmus Thorsen and Tomas Hostrup-Larsen of Cosmo
Film.



The
film will also be screened in the Clermont-Ferrand market together with
two other short films: The DFI Film Workshop produced "Stressless" by
award-winner Jessica Nielsen ("Spotless", 1999) and "Odin's Eye" by Maria
Mac Dalland and produced by Wake Film.



Danish
short fiction popular in France


At
the Premiers Plans festival in Angers (16-25 January 2004) "Habibti My
Love", directed by Pernille Fischer Christensen and produced by Lottie
Terp Jakobsen for Nimbus Film, received the Prix Spécial du Jury. The film
has travelled widely throughout Europe and is also recipient of a Danish
Robert for Best Film (Danish Film Academy, 2003).



Already
a seven-time winner, "Between Us", directed by Laurits Munch-Petersen and
produced by Emilie Brandt Luke at the National Film School of Denmark, was
awarded three times this last weekend: At the FIPA Festival (16-25 January
2004) it won the FIPA d'Or. At the Premiers Plans Festival in Angers it
won two awards, the Prix du Public and the Prix des Ètudiants
d'Angers.
