Mads Mikkelsen is Le Chiffre in "Casino Royale"

Mads Mikkelsen, one of Denmark's top film actors, plays opposite Agent 007 in the role of the villain Le Chiffre in the new James Bond film "Casino Royale". For his role Mikkelsen has already received international acclaim.

Recent highlights in Mikkelsen's work include Anders Thomas Jensen's black comedy hit "Adams Apples" (2004), nominated for an EFA People's Choice Award 2006; and Susanne Bier's "After the Wedding" (2006), running for an Oscar 2007 nomination and which has also brought the actor a nomination for EFA's Best Actor Award 2006.

According to critic Morten Piil, "Many would say Mikkelsen tops those two outstanding efforts" in his performance in "Prague", Ole Christian Madsen's intimate drama of a marriage on the rocks.
