New area director for DFI Distribution & Marketing

The Danish Film
Institute has appointed 45-year-old Anders Geertsen as area director for
DFI Distribution & Marketing. Presently CEO at Munksgaards Forlag
where he has been for the last decade, Anders Geertsen will take up his
post full time at the DFI on 1 April 2002.A graduate in French and
economics from Copenhagen University, Geertsen has worked in the public
and private sectors; his previous appointments include the Ministry of
Science, where he specialized in the communication of knowledge online.
His work in publishing involved contacts with a range of public bodies and
individuals at home and abroad, including libraries, copyright owners,
writers, universities and rights organizations. His considerable
knowledge and wide experience, including thorough skills in senior
management, qualify him in taking on the management of the large number of
functions for which the distribution and communication department is
responsible.Henning Camre, Danish Film Institute CEO, says of
Anders Geertsen that "his background is interesting, his knowledge is
extensive, ranging from the arts to economics, technology and management.
During the reorganization the department is about to undergo, his
specialist experience in information technology will be invaluable. Anders
will bring new inspiration to the whole area and he will be a splendid
sparring partner at the most senior executive level".
