Toronto selects "Brothers", Susanne Bier's latest feature film

2003, Susanne Bier is back with a new feature film "Brothers", to be
released in Denmark 27 August. Toronto International Film Festival (9-18
September 2004) has selected "Brothers" for their prestigious Contemporary
World Cinema programme.



"Brothers" is a powerful and moving drama
about a man's struggle to regain life and love in the wake of tragedy.
Leading players are Ulrich Thomsen ("The Celebration"), Nikolaj Lie Kaas
("Truly Human") and renowned Danish-Hollywood actress Connie
Nielsen.



"Brothers" is directed by Susanne Bier
and written by Anders Thomas Jensen on the basis of a mutual idea. The
film is produced by Sisse Graum Olsen and Peter Aalbæk Jensen for Zentropa
Productions.



Susanne Bier's highly acclaimed "Open
Hearts", seen by 10 percent of the Danish population, received Special
Mention from FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) at
Toronto Film Festival in 2003. Since, this film has been sought after by
festivals worldwide and given distribution in a number of countries,
including the USA.
