FILM PEOPLE. Zentropa seeks to strengthen its artistic position with the appointment of former DFI Film Commissioner Vinca Wiedemann.

One of, if not the most highly profiled Danish production company has teamed up with a central creative figure in the industry. Vinca Wiedemann, former DFI film commissioner, former artistic director of New Danish Screen and creative consultant on films by Trier and Bier, is appointed new creative producer at Zentropa and will be collaborating with the company's scriptwriters, producers and directors on developing and producing projects ranging from feature and short films to TV productions. Wiedemann will also be working closely with Zentropa's management in formulating the company's future artistic goals.

"We've spent the last six months trimming our budget here at Zentropa, and now it's high time we focus on our artistic output," says managing director Peter Aalbæk Jensen. "Over the past 15 years, Vinca Wiedemann has demonstrated her importance as creative partner in Danish film productions, so we're very excited that she'll be joining us in our efforts to strengthen our artistic profile."

Vinca Wiedemann graduated as editor from the National Film School of Denmark in 1987 and has since worked as both producer and scriptwriter. Was appointed film commissioner at the Danish Film Institute 1999-2003 and artistic director of DFI's talent scheme New Danish Screen 2003-2007. Has worked as freelance script consultant, most recently on Lars Von Trier's "Melancholia", and as artistic producer on, among others, Susanne Bier's "In a Better World" and Pernille Fischer Christensen's "A Family".
