 Five
Danish films have been selected for official programmes at the 54th Berlin
International Film Festival (5-15 February 2004):
 "In
Your Hands", a Dogme-film, directed by Annette K. Olesen and produced by
Ib Tardini of Zentropa, is running for the prestigious Bear together with
22 other films in the Official Competition. This is Olesen's second film
to participate at this international event. In 2002 her feature film debut
"Minor Mishaps" was selected for the official competition and brought home
Der Blaue Engel for Best European Film.
 "Kick'n
Rush", Aage Rais-Nordentoft's third feature film, is selected for the
Panorama programme. Produced by Louise Vesth and Ib Tardini for Jutlandia
Film, the film was described by a Danish critic as 'nothing less than an
event . straight from the hip' and 'brilliantly depicted'. Rais-Nordentoft
is also a director familiar with the Berlin festival. His feature film
debut "The Flyer" participated in KinderfilmFest in 1996 and was honoured
with a Special Mention, and in 2002 Rais-Nordentoft was invited back as a
 member of Kinderfilmfest's Adult Jury.
 "Scratch",
a feature film debut by Anders Gustafsson, produced by Birgitte Skov and
Bo Ehrhardt of Nimbus Film, has been selected for Kinderfilmfest's new
competition programme '14 plus'. In his review in Variety, Gunnar Rehlin
writes that Gustafsson provides 'sharp, honest portrayals of young people
in contempo Scandinavia'. Lead actress in "Scratch", Stephanie Leòn -
awarded the Golden Swan at BUSTER (Copenhagen International Film Festival,
CIFF) for her role as Mille - is described by Rehlin as a young actress
who 'makes Mille a totally believable human being'.
 The two short films selected
for Kinderfilmfest's competition are "Little Daddy" by Michael W. Horsten,
produced by Lise Lense-Møller of Magic Hour and "Lauge's Cat" produced and
directed by Christina Rosendahl. Horsten is a familiar face at
KinderfilmFest; he received Honorary Mention for his short film "Going
Back Home" in 2000 and he scripted the 1999 Crystal Bear short film winner
"Teis & Nico". Rosendahl is a promising young film director who began
filming with the production outfit Super 16, established by a group
of young filmmakers as an alternative to the National Film School of
 Denmark.

breakthrough in Susanne Bier's Dogme film "Open Hearts", 2002. Richter
played a prominent role in Jannik Johansen's "Rembrandt", 2003, and has a
