Eleven-year old Amanda is an ordinary but thoughtful and clever girl living in Fredensborg, a small town north of Copenhagen. She is one of the very many children in Denmark and worldwide whose parents are divorced. She has two families and two worlds, which she moves between. She spends nine days at her mother's, followed by five days at her father's, and then nine days at her mother's, followed by five days at her father's - and so it goes on. It is a split life, where you always have to become accustomed to new surroundings. A child needs both its parents, but living in two places can be both hard and troublesome.
