The army at work

Gunnar Wangel, Denmark, 1945

10 min.DK/Documentary

After the liberation, Danish recruits to the armed forces encountered great difficulties when they were called up for the first time. The Germans had stolen uniforms and materials, and most of the barracks were occupied by German refugees. These difficulties were gradually overcome, and the recruits were re-equipped with materials from the Allies and from Sweden.
