A young artist has lost his sight in the war, but never gives up hope of finding the young woman he once gave shelter. A young lady visits the house and the young man thinks she is the dream-girl. She falls in love with the young man, but is afraid that she cannot live up to his expectations. In the second act they are married and have a child. As the young man gets his sight back, the wife has left on a trip, but returns as the nanny of her own child to test if he really loves her.
