A story about Danish resistance fighter Kim Malthe-Bruun ¿ taking us from the frozen tundra landscapes of Kim's childhood in Canada, to the first encounter with his great love, to his involvement in the Second World War, and finally his imprisonment on death row in the hands of the Germans. The story is told through Kim's life-affirming presence in his writings and the stories told by those whom he knew. We especially get to know Kim through the eyes of two women who survived him.
