Martin Andersen Nexø is known by most Danes for the novels 'Ditte Menneskebarn' and 'Pelle Erobreren', which have been filmed by Bille August. This documentary film paints a portrait of the writer, the politician and the man, Martin Andersen Nexø, seen from a great grandchild's point of view. The film contains a number of stock shots from Nexø's life and many journeys, back to the Soviet Union in 1922.
