Hjalmar is 6 years old and has gone to Ireland with his parents and baby brother, where they are going to live for one year. In a little village close to the Atlantic Ocean Hjalmar and his family will make a new life. Hjalmar is going to attend the local school and make new friends. The film follows Hjalmar's struggle to conquer a new language and with that a new world.
