Portrættet

Niels Winkel is a visual artist and a portrait painter. His services have been engaged to make a portrait of Frederik Dessau, the author and radio commentator. Winkel's way of preparing himself for being able to make the portrait of Dessau consists primarily of conversations between the two men. Here, the painter gets to know his model. These preparations - you can call them "research" - are what constitute, in all their elegant simplicity, the story in the film.
