In Nepal, on mountain slopes on the Tibetan border, in the severest of climates, live the Sherpas. The unfriendly nature far from fertile valleys was never tempting to the squires of Nepal, so the Sherpas escaped slavery and serfdom. The Sherpas have adjusted themselves to the extremely harsh physical conditions and they have more strength and stamina than most other peoples on earth.
