A portrait of Kibongo, an African sea captain from Lamu, one of the islands off the northern coast of Kenya. For centuries, Lamu has been a centre for the Swahili people whose culture during this time has not underwent much change owing to the isolated position of the place. Kibongo's sea voyage is a reconstruction, but all the environments are authentic.
