Director, actress. Completed her undergraduate studies in anthropology from Barnard College, Columbia University, New York, and holds a master in Health, Community and Development from London School of Economics.
Her debut as a short fiction director was with "Undertow Eyes" (2009), which was shown at MoMA and won awards for best short fiction at festival in Europe and America. In 2012 she directed the feature film "Elena" that premiered at IDFA and was screened at SXSW and HotDocs.
Petra Costa and co-director Lea Glob won the Nordic Dox Award for "Olmo and the Seagull" at CPH:DOX in 2014.
