Treaties and Agreements

The Danish Film Institute has signed several co-production agreements and treaties, which are tied to the DFI's strategy to encourage international collaboration and co-production.

The treaties listed below are necessary for official co-productions, while some of the agreements aim to foster collaboration at an early stage.

Here is an overview of the treaties and agreements with links to the official texts:

Canada-Denmark co-development incentive for digital media projects

The Canada Media Fund and the Danish Film Institute initiated a co-development incentive to strengthen the co-development of digital media projects between Canada and Denmark in 2017. The agreement has been prolonged in 2018 and in 2019.

German-Danish co-production development initiative

The Danish Film Institute and the Film Fund Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein initiated in 2014 a co-development agreement to encourage the cooperation of producers in the region of Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and those in Denmark. The funding scheme supports the development of Danish-German film projects that have the potential to develop into high quality films aimed at national and international audiences.
