How do you navigate the balance between the security of love and the chaos of desire when you are in your early 20s? This is the focal point of the dramatic mini-series 'Sex', selected for the Berlin Film Festival's programme for new series productions, Berlinale Series.

'Sex' is created by director Amalie Næsby Fick and screenwriter Clara Mendes. The six twelve-minute episodes will have their international premiere at the Berlin Film Festival, whick kicks off on 20 February. The series will be opening domestically on the streaming network TV 2 Play on 3 February.

22-year-old Cathrine is at the centre of the story. After spending a magical night on a rooftop sharing an innocent kiss, Cathrine is paralyzed with confusion and desire. At home she has Simon, who is also her best friend, but he has lost his sexual desire. Cathrine on the contrary has a huge appetite for sex and becomes attracted to her fascinating colleague, Selma. Cathrine is now caught in between the safe, familiar love and her new exciting crush, and she has no idea what to do about it. She lies to protect the people she cares for, but that just makes things worse.

Asta August, who previously featured in the series 'Follow the Money' and 'The New Nurses', plays Cathrine, while Jonathan Bergholdt is Simon. The cast also includes Nina Terese Rask as Selma and Sara Fanta Traore as Cathrine's friend Nanna.
