Andala and Sofiannquaq settled in Southern Greenland six years ago. Along with a handful of other families they are forging a small sheep farming community with their youthful enthusiasm and pioneering spirit. There is a hard but meaningful rhythm to their lives. The family clears new fields, sails off to do the shopping in the nearest settlement, raises three children, Christens the youngest, goes trout fishing, shears sheep and has enough energy left for more intellectual interests. The film reveals the countryside of Southern Greenland calmly and poetically, leaving Andala and Sofiannquaq to describe their everyday lives and hopes for the future.
