Having lost his spark as an artist, Karsakow replies to an advertisement run by Professor Berg, who is looking to test his newly invented device for sending rays of light through the human body. After the test, Karsakow envisions the many possibilities offered by the device and steals the invention. He begins a successful career as a travelling variety show performer, appearing as the ‘Skeleton Dancer’. Professor Berg and his daughter hear about this, figure out that their apparatus is involved and go in pursuit of the thief – a mission with fatal consequences.
