The Magical Order - Pioneers Of Danish Design

Claus Bohm, Denmark, 1991

38 min.DK/Documentary

The film is a description of Danish design - from Bindesbøll, who lived around the turn of the century, through the 20th century until the modernism of recent times. In the director's own words: I have chosen to describe some of the pioneers of Danish design through their works. They draw a line in Danish design - a line where tradition and renewal are central elements. It is said that architects can be divided into two categories: Magicians and surgeons. The persons portrayed in this film contain a mixture of these qualities and temperaments.
