Danish film director and screenwriter Lone Thau delves into her family past on a visit to their summerhouse on the North Sea coast, where four generations of her relatives have spent their summer holidays. She examines old photographs taken by her great-grandfather, the poet and photographer Andreas Beiter (1851-1935), and through the photographs she tells the story of his life and the story of the political upheaval in Denmark around 1901.
