Christopher Juul-Jensen is a reading, thinking and writing cyclist. He is considered one of the most valuable domestiques in the world. The past few years, he has written down his inner thoughts about life on the roads, but he has never shown his poetry to anyone, before now. In this portrait, with painful self-awareness he tells about how strong the longing can be for victory, for a man who is basically paid to lose. We follow Christopher from his boyhood in Ireland to a career as the field's self-destructive butler constantly doubting the meaning of it all.
Daniel Dencik made his debut as documentary feature director with 'Moon Rider' about a young bike rider, winner of the talent award at CPH:DOX in 2012. Debuted as feature film director with 'Gold Coast' (2015).
