Film editor, screenwriter, director and author. Born 1972, Sweden. Graduated in editing at the National Film School of Denmark, 1999. He is also a writer of poetry books and short stories.
Has edited numerous award-winning films, including 'Into Eternity' (2010) that won the prize for Best International Editing at Documentary Edge Awards in 2011, 'Dark Horse' (2005), that was selected for the sidebar competition Un Certain Regard in Cannes and 'Noi the Albino' (2003). He has also written the screenplay for several films including 'Outside Love' (2007) and 'Out of Bounds' (2012) by Frederikke Aspöck, who was nominated for the Golden Camera at Cannes Film Festival.
Dencik made his debut as documentary feature director with 'Moon Rider' (2012), winner of the Reel Talent Award at CPH:DOX in 2012. Debuted as feature film director with 'Gold Coast' (2015). 'Miss Osaka' (2021) is his second feature film as a director.
