The corn is in danger

Hagen Hasselbalch, Denmark, 1945

9 min.DK/Documentary

From its native country, India, the corn weevil has spread all over the globe, swarming in millions, multiplying, devouring and destroying. We see the efforts made by the agricultural pest centre to fight the weevil, which costs Denmark 22,000,000 Kroner each year in lost and damaged grain. This is a propaganda film directed towards ordinary men and women. The theme is treated at once dramatically and humourously, and the weevils express their hatred of mankind and their determination to destroy his food in queer reedy voices.
