Born 1955, Sweden. Film director. Graduated in sculpture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, 1986, and took part in the Whitney Programme in New York. Westerlund works and lives in Cairo and Copenhagen.
Known for her films "The Last Stranger" (1997), "If I Give You My Humbleness, Don't Take Away My Pride" (1998), selected for Un Certain Regard, Cannes; "Helgoland" (2000), honoured at Aspen, Melbourne and Sevilla festivals.
