Born on 23 September 1968. Holds a degree in Film and Media Studies from the University of Copenhagen.
From 1999 to 2005, she was Programme Editor at the Cinematheque of the Danish Film Institute.
In 2003, she co-founded the documentary film festival CPH:DOX together with the Natsværmer Foundation. Under her leadership, the festival grew to become one of the world’s leading documentary festivals.
In 2018, Fischer became Director of Copenhagen Film Festivals, which included CPH:DOX as well as CPH PIX and BUSTER.
In 2021, she was appointed Rector of the National Film School of Denmark.
Since August 2024, Tine Fischer has served as CEO of the Danish Film Institute.
