En grovsmeds liv med ure. Hans Peter Jensen stod i lære som grovsmed. Selv om han aldrig blev udlært, endte han som maskinmester på et større frysehus. Bortset fra hans kone, bestod hele hans liv i at lave meget fine standure, lige fra den mindste skrue til det fine trækabinet.
