Venice's La Settimana Internazionale della Critica, showing only directors' first films, this year has chosen Annika Berg's "Team Hurricane" to be one out of seven films in competition in the sidebar at the Venice Film Festival.
"Team Hurricane" will be celebrating its world premiere in Venice.

"Team Hurricane" is an experimental teen drama that celebrates teenage girls who dare to be loud, annoying, vulgar and vulnerable. Director Annika Berg describes her film as a "punk chick flick about radical girls in an ordinary world". It tells the story of eight teenage girls spending a summer together in a youth club, and how that slowly makes each of them bloom.
"Team Hurricane", narrated as a series of expressive moments, was created in a close collaboration between Annika Berg and the eight girls in the film, which Berg found through her research on social media.
The film is produced by Katja Adomeit for Adomeit Film with support from The Danish Film Institute. Adomeit was also present with films at this year's Berlinale and this and last year's Cannes Festival.
Cinematographer Louise McLaughlin and editor Sofie Marie Kristensen graduated from the National Film School of Denmark in 2015 with Annika Berg, making together their final film, "SIA", which blends documentary and fiction in a portrait of a single day in a 93-year-old woman's life.
International sales of "Team Hurricane" are handled by Adomeit Film.
