Anna is 24 years old and she has a dual diagnosis in the form of mental illnesses and a drug addiction. Since Anna was 13 years old, she has been a frequent patient in the psychiatric system. Anna is caught in a vicious circle where she abuses drugs as a form of self-medication to handle her many traumas. The documentary series follows Anna’s life for three years in and out of the psychiatric wards and in the drug scene in Vesterbro in Copenhagen. It is a harsh story about how Anna struggles to survive an everyday life with drugs and mental illnesses within a treatment system she does not feel helps her in the right way.
