The Blue Monk is a pub for battered souls. Mainly men in mid-life who still haven't figured out how to handle women. In this gallows humour of a comedy we never leave the closed circle of the pub. The bartender is an attractive young woman who dreams of an acting career. The men on the other side of the bar dream of her, and share experiences gained from long lives with the mysterious female sex. The result is a tragicomedy that alternates between the convivial and the sharp-toothed, about the ceaseless battle of the sexes and their invariable ability to talk at cross-purposes, executed with a twinkle in the eye, but concluding with the realisation that your dreams can be mortally wounding.
