Eva Turell is a deputy judge at the Small Claims Court but behind her policed façade, she is keeping a big secret; she is a compulsive gambler who at an illegal casino has gotten herself into a huge debt of 300.000 Danish crowns, which the gangster Daniel has now come to collect. Eva calls her banker hoping to be able to sweet-talk him into giving her a new loan in her apartment. Eva needs to put aside her own problems in the Small Claims Court to help out a mentally vulnerable man who has been cheated of his inheritance by a smart banker. After the case Daniel comes by, and Eva realizes that he is not one you easily get rid off.
