The film is about a young boy growing up in the suburbs of Chicago. Every summer he and his family would spend their vacation up in Quetico Park by the Canadian border. Well, that is, they did, until they heard the true story of a teenage girl called Francis Brandywine. The story goes, bored one night, Francis took the row boat out onto the deepest lake in Quetico.
