A dark November night in 1979, 300 women storm and occupy the Grevinde Danner Stiftelse in Copenhagen, to salvage it from demolition and transformation to offices. In a montage of old and new footage, the film follows the women's nerve wrecking race against time, as they, with the aid of a united Denmark, collect millions of Kroners to buy and restore the house, that was to become Denmark's first crisis centre for battered women.
