Born 1959, Denmark. Graduated from the National Film School of Denmark, 1984. Has directed a number of productions for television as well as short fiction.
Lars Hesselholdt¿s feature film debut, the youth drama "Belma" (1995), took home several international awards including first prizes at Rimouski, Zlín and Lübeck. Likewise, the children¿s film "Falkehjerte"/"Katja's Adventure" (1999), Lars Hesselholdt¿s second feature, won at a number of festivals, including Amsterdam, Chicago and Giffoni.
