Den ti-årig pige, Momo lever i en by, hvis fredfyldte liv bliver forstyrret af ankomsten af nogle mærkelige cigarrygende mænd i gråt, som får folk til at opgive deres fritid og istedet indsætte den i tidssparebanken.
