CPH:DOX FORUM

Welcome to CPH:FORUM, CPH:DOX long-standing financing and co-production event where top producers and highly acknowledged directors from all over the world take the stage to pitch their projects. It is composed of CPH:FORUM, CHANGE and CPH:WIP project presentations.

ABOUT CPH:FORUM

CPH:FORUM is our international financing and co-production event, dedicated to facilitating the development and financing of highly creative, risk-taking and visually strong film projects.

The event brings together key European and international financiers, industry professionals and producers, intent on discovering the latest innovative works in development from independent documentary filmmakers, fiction filmmakers and visual artists.

CPH:FORUM is committed to the nurturing of a variety of voices and aesthetic expressions of the documentary genre. We aim to continuously expand the boundaries and possibilities for documentary film and filmmakers, as well as grow the role of art as an active voice in civil society.

Reflecting CPH:DOX's profile, the Forum has 5 main focus areas:

  1. CINEMA: high-end, theatrical feature-length documentaries with international distribution potential
  2. FICTIONONFICTION: challenging works in the hybrid landscape between fiction and nonfiction
  3. F:ACT: projects bridging the fields of filmmaking, investigative journalism and activism
  4. ART: film projects to be screened both within the institution of cinema and that of visual arts
  5. SCIENCE: creative documentary film on science and technology

We are proud to present a carefully curated line-up of 30 high-end international film projects. Top producers and renowned directors from all over the world will take the stage to pitch their new projects to decision makers and front-runners across the industry.

Besides project presentations CPH:FORUM presents the Eurimages Co-Production Development Award and offers tailored one-to-one meetings with financiers and co-production partners.

CPH:FORUM is kindly co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union, The Danish Film Institute, Danish Producers’ Association, Producer Rights Denmark (PRD), Nordisk Film & TV Fond and supported by the Eurimages.

ABOUT CPH:WIP

For the sixth year running, we are presenting Nordic documentary works-in-progress looking for gap financing or a launch pad for further distribution. The 6 selected titles have been curated in collaboration with the Nordic film institutes and reflect CPH:DOX’s commitment to strong documentary films from the Nordic region also expressed through the festival’s NORDIC:DOX Award.

In an intimate setting, each presenting team will show longer scenes from their upcoming documentary films to a dedicated professional audience followed by tailored one-to-one meetings with interested buyers, sales agents and festival programmers.

CPH:WIP is kindly co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union, The Danish Film Institute, Danish Producers’ Association, Producer Rights Denmark (PRD) and Nordisk Film & TV Fond and presented in collaboration with the Nordic film institutes.

ABOUT CHANGE

CHANGE is our brand-new development co-production training program organised in collaboration with International Media Support IMS and the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs EAVE, featuring documentary projects from the European Eastern Partnership countries (EaP) – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Committing to the power of documentary to catalyse change, the ambition of CHANGE is to increase equality and access to the international film market, and to stimulate inter-regional co-production with the EaP countries.

As a part of this overall mission, seven projects developed by CHANGE 2022 will be presented for the first time at CPH:FORUM 2022 to the international industry. The pitch in Copenhagen will be a culmination of a 6-month-long training program, consisting of two residential workshops that took place in Kyiv, Ukraine in October 2021 and Tbilisi, Georgia in January 2022.

CPH:CHANGE is kindly co-funded by the Creative Europe MEDIA programme of the European Union, and presented in collaboration with EAVE and IMS.

CPH:FORUM is for Forum accredited guests only.
