A mysterious stranger arrives by plane from Rumania, and dies in Denmark of an infection with weird Ebola-like symptoms. Søren, an ambitious junior doctor, devotes all his efforts to tracing the source of infection, and sets off for Rumania with Sarah, a medical student, to find the boy who infected the stranger. After a series of nightmare events Søren succeeds in obtaining a biopsy of the boy's buried body and science believes it has triumphed, but now the catastrophe begins for real. Søren has discounted Stella Mala, the evil star that presages doom - and who is the man spreading panic with his Molotov-cocktails?
