Dagur Kári

(1973 – )

Born 1973 in Aix-en-Provence, France, to Icelandic parents. Moved to Iceland at the age of 3 and was raised there. Studied film directing at the National Film School in Copenhagen from 1995-1999. Graduation film "Lost Weekend" won a sea of international awards.

First feature "Noi Albinoi" was released in 2003 and was a world wide art-house hit. Second feature "Voksne mennesker"/"Dark Horse" premiered in Cannes¿ Un Certain Regard in 2005.

Dagur is also a musician and has been a member of a duo named "slowblow" since 1994. They have released albums and composed the soundtrack to all of Kari¿s films.
