Sine Plambech

Director, anthropologist. Born 1975, Denmark. Senior researcher at the Danish Institute for International Studies (DIIS) and a previous research fellow at Columbia University in New York.

For 15 years, Plambech has worked with migrant communities in Thailand, Nigeria, Italy and Denmark, related to her research on migration, human trafficking, the European migrant crisis, sex work migration and marriage migration.

Plambech's work has resulted in awardwinning documentaries such as 'Ticket to Paradise' (2008) and 'Love on Delivery' (2008), directed by Janus Metz, and 'Trafficking' (2010) directed by Sine Plambech and Judith Lansade and 'Becky's Journey' (2014).

'Heartbound' (2018), a continuation of Plambech and Metz' two films from 2008 about migration and Thai-Danish marriages, premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and won the top doc award at Zurich Film Festival. The film is selected for IDFA 2018.
