For tusinder af år siden regerer den onde og diktatoriske kong Memnon, der underkuer alle omkringboende folkeslag. Hans hemmelige våben er en troldmand, der kan forudse slaget gang inden det udkæmpes. Mathayus bliver hyret som lejemorder til at dræbe troldmanden. Men det viser sig, at denne troldmand er en smuk kvinde, seersken Cassandra, og sammen tager de to kampen op med Memnon for at afskaffe hans tyranniske enevælde.
