The vampire is on the loose, as is classical gothic horror in this tale about Rico Mortis, the immortal bloodsucker. For centuries he haunted mankind until a brave woman drove him into the grave. But he was not completely annihilated, as we see for ourselves, when young Rebecca inherits an old mansion. She spends a night there with two friends, a night when the friends' supercilious disbelief turns to bloody earnest.
