30 years after he was Oscar nominated for »The Emigrants« (1971), the Swedish director Jan Troell, for the first time, has agreed to have a film portrait made. And more than that, Troell has opened his personal film archive to director Thomas Danielsson. This unique footage and Troell's very frank discussion with Danielsson about his life and art, turns Troell's magic mirror into an outstanding portrait of one of Scandinavia's greatest filmmakers.
