Dickie Roberts var en barnestjerne i tv-serien The Glimmer Gang, men 30 år efter serien stoppede må han erkende, at det er svært at få en karriere som voksen. Han vil gerne være rig og berømt igen, og for at øve sig på en ny rolle, flytter han ind hos en familie.
